Food preparation

Ugh, we all love salt. But at 575mg for 1/4 teaspoon, it seems impossible that we can even dream of adding it to our diet. And, let's face it, any "salt-like replacement" (like potassium chloride) tastes a bit funky! Here is a list of my favorite low-sodium spices that I love to replace salt with. And, they are just plain delicious!

Condiments

Are we able to replace our beloved Asian sauce staples on a healthy heart diet? Well, my dad is an Asian food fiend, so naturally, I've been researching (and sampling) sauces for the last 3 years. Yes! There are replacements. Below are the sauces I keep reaching for over and over again! Let me share them with you!

Noodle Dish

I'm a noodle - girl through and through. So, naturally, one of my prioritize after my dad returned from the hospital was to find some heart-healthy noodles. Here is a list of noodles that has very little sodium. Enjoy!

Steak

New American is my absolute staple and comfort food. Naturally, I had to find heart-healthy replacements for salty sauces so that my dad and I could still eat burgers together! Here are a list of sauces that you can still have (if you find the right brand). Now my dad and I can eat burgers the deliciously complex and low-sodium way!
